Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy | Oscar Award

Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy is first from Pakistan who won Oscar award.Her Documentary film “Saving Face”  was nominated at   the 84th Academy Awards  and her documentary won the award. She has made documentary on burned women. She is role model for Pakistan and also inspiration for women. Pakistan Government announces civil award for Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy for Oscar achievement. Sharemeen  proud of you.

Plane crash in Lahore

Aircraft, which belonged to Hybrid Aviation, had flown from Walton Airport. Plane was crashed in the porch area of House 143-H, Model Town Lahore. Two people were reported to be flying the plane and both have been killed in the crash. The area has been cordoned off by the police and a large number of rescue teams have reached the site. A police official, while speaking to the media, said that the wreckage of the aircraft could not be removed from the site as a team from Karachi would be coming in to examine the scene. He said the site had been isolated and non-concerned people were not allowed to come near it.

Tamanna Begum

Pakistan Film industry famous actress Tamanna Begum died today. She born in Lahore and she started her career with Radio Pakistan then in 60’s and after that she started doing work in theater and later introduced to Pakistani Film Industry. She did many comic roles and she worked in many plays and movies. She got appreciation and get known by character roles.


She was an actress who worked with all the famous film stars, including Muhammad Ali, Sabiha Khanum, Rangeela, Munawar Zareef, Santosh Kumar, Darpan, Nayyar Sultana, Syed Kamal, Nadeem, Waheed Murad, Nanna, Shahid and many more. Later when she acted as a comedian in different plays with famous film and stage actor Umer Shareef, she also proved to be a great stage actress. Her nature was very jolly and friendly, she always remain happy and give smile to everyone. From 1960 to 2012 the legend kept proving herself a true performer no matter what kind of roles she was bagged with. Her journey from 1960 – 2012 definitely had ups and downs – and only a strong headed and powerful woman like her could manage to travel on such path with consistency and élan. She was ill for few months and admitted in a hospital but on 20 feb 2012 she died. 
Her Namaz-e-Janaza was held at the Rehmania Masjid in North Nazimabad Karachi and attended by a number of people, including artists. Famous actors and actresses, including a delegation of artists visited the residence of the late film actress and expressed their condolences with the bereaved family. She is no more with us but her work and memories are always with us.
